Accommodations are set!

After hours and hours of reading travel books and searching the Internet, we have landed accommodations in London and Paris!! TripAdvisor. com was a tremendous help. Travelers post reviews of the places they have stayed and rate the establishments. The places we selected had fantastic ratings.

Our hotel in London is the Darlington Hyde Park. (Don't you just love that name?! So British!) The hotel is just a few minutes walk from Paddington Station, one of the main "tube" stations as well as close to Hyde Park (thus the name!). A full English breakfast is included which will help both with expenses and getting out the door in the morning. The rooms are small everywhere you go, but everything from the staff to the cleanliness got rave reviews.

In Paris, we will be staying at the Abbatial Saint Germain in the heart of the Latin Quarter on the Left Bank in Paris. It's just a block from the Seine River and minutes from Notre Dame Cathedral. The Latin Quarter is known for its bistros, art galleries and universities. The hotel again had rave reviews. We opted out of the breakfast this time because of the price, and are hoping we made the right decision. Everything is expensive in Europe with the Euro costing $1.60! We'll have to eat in one of the many wonderful cafes every morning.

This is all getting very exciting. Lots to study and learn before we go!

'til next time...au revoir!

Welcome!

Hey Everyone!

This is our very first attempt at blogging. We get great feedback from all of you on our photos of our travels, so thought that we would try blogging our trips, especially our upcoming first trip to Europe, including London and Paris. We are currently doing our research of both cities, trying to find accommodations, and even going to try to learn a few words and phrases of the French language.

So stay tuned! The countdown has begun. We leave March 21, 2010!
